How to nail your Radio Interview 2of 2

On the first part of this blog we discussed about knowing your right audience, who to target, their likes and wants. Then we moved to making sure we are fully prepared, we know what we need to talk about, to make the most out of our interview.

Today, we will cover the last two important areas that you need need to do during a radio interview.

3. Create a buzz make it viral.

Are you in social media? If yes, then you’re one step ahead of the race. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platform are blessings for book marketers like you.

Before the show, make a post that you’ve been invited to do a radio interview about your book. Message your friends so they can anticipate and tune in. Make sure to mention the book, name of the show and the time your interview will be played. It will create more traffic about your book and knowing that you’ve been invited as guest on the show, this will give a great impression that you’re an expert in its topic.

After the interview, most will be automatically provided with the MP3 file of the whole show. If you don’t have it, you can try to request and they will gladly send it. Post the radio interview to your social media page. If you have a website, create a blog about your experience. Make sure to include the link where they can listen to your radio interview online at the end of your blog.

4. Don’t stop, repeat the process.

Consistency is the key, a cliché because it’s true. There are many great stories, products or ideas that could have been successful if authors were persistent in getting their words out.

Most who have made it never stopped marketing their ideas until eventual publishing breakthrough. They never stopped because they genuinely believe about their ideas importance, message and relevance. With how big our world is, one radio interview can only do so much. Keep the momentum, many authors who’ve been interviewed on the radio have been requested to do TV interview, guest speakers of a conference and many other possibilities right after.

Check out your local radio station and see if they’d be interested to discuss a certain topic found in your book. You can also check some podcast channels that are relevant to your book.

Book Trail Agency is partnered with Iheart Radio, NBC and many radio channels globally. We have consultants that are interested to know the message of your book. They will help you tap into suitable radio channels that have potential listeners for your book.
